Mekka's Story

I know what it feels like to need that option.

I'm Mekka. I'm a wife, an autism mom and a caregiver.

For a long time, I was trying to make appointments, show up for events, take care of my family and manage my own life while running on empty.

"Then, at 48, I found out I had lupus."
That was the moment I had to be honest with myself. I couldn't keep stretching myself thinner and calling it strength.

I had to lose the version of me that was drowning before I could find the version of me that could build.

So I started investing in myself. I became a student. I made mistakes. I learned. I practiced. And I kept going until things started to make sense.

What started as a way to give myself a mental break eventually became an opportunity to build something of my own.
